We Offer:

The Forward Engineer is part of the Europe Service Engineering team. As the technical specialist in machinery selection (concept) and design of Centrifugal Compressors, he supports the sales application and design engineering teams as well as the project management for service business opportunities and contract execution. He will support the German and French Operations. The scope of Service business includes machinery modernization to enhance the reliability and efficiency of machines (revamps & upgrades, footprint machines) as well as spare/replacement parts.

Task range:

How You’ll Make an Impact

· Develop concept studies prior to project award

· Define the main components and flowpath of the core compressor through the design package in compliance with the project specifications and Siemens-Energy design standards

· Guarantee the mechanical and thermodynamic performance of centrifugal compressors throughout the production cycle

· Meet the engineering milestones through the internal and external deliverables

· Carry out the mechanical and aerodynamic calculations

· Select the material specifications with the support from Materials specialists

· Define the interfaces for compressor package and auxiliaries

· Select the compressor buy-out components (bearings and seals)

· Carry out the lateral rotodynamic analysis of compressors

· Lead or participate to design reviews with the design team

· Review the main assembly drawings

· Provide the technical support to other engineering disciplines, production and supply chain teams in a worldwide environment

· Participate in the resolution of non-conformances in production or issues on the test-stand or on the field

· Provide the technical support to project management for client kick-off and clarification meetings

· Release the contractual documentation

· Participate to the product safety and conformity

What You’ll Bring

· Mechanical Engineering degree with knowledge in aerodynamics and thermodynamics

· Work experience of at least two years in industry

· You have judgement and deductive skills

· You demonstrate some technical precision and writing skills in English

· You feel comfortable to discuss with all internal and external stakeholders (clients, suppliers)

· You are able to adapt to changes and urgencies

· You are keen in learning and applying digital tools and engineering softwares

· You are oriented in product safety and quality improvement

· You accept to travel occasionally, mostly to Germany or France (a first period of training based in Germany or France will be necessary)

· You are fluent in English;
