Controlling & Planning (Senior) Specialist

This position is within Process Automation business. In this position, you will aid the organization by compiling and analyzing metrics for performance versus budgets and forecasts, while identifying trends and problems, communicating information to relevant groups, and recommending actions to improve financial performance.

Reporting to the Controlling & Planning Team Leader you will benchmark KPIs with peers and work with management to understand and analyze the drivers of financial performance and to identify trends.

For this position Spanish language skills are beneficial for efficient communication with Local Finance and Project Teams. This is an important component of the seniority of the role. The candidate will be assessed by language, experience and proposed relevant position, either as a Specialist or a Senior Specialist. We appreciate dynamic, motivated and independent people willing to learn and grow.

Your Background

Bachelor Degree in Finance and Accounting or Business administration

At least 5 years of experience in Accounting, Controlling and/or FP&A

Excel skills, SAP and BW, PowerBI knowledge is an asset

Fluency in English – written & spoken, 

Very good Spanish is an asset (or motivation to quickly learn mainly for business communication/ Project Reviews)

High motivation to work in dynamic environment with orientation towards process improvement/simplification with ability to work effectively in a team environment

Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and confidence in information produced

Ability to work well under pressure is a prerequisite (meeting deadlines with highest quality)

Participating/experience in ABB Global Projects (SAP S/4HANA Central Finance (CFIN) is an strong asset

Collaborating with Process Automation business controller, performing analysis of business performance versus budget and forecast and benchmarking of key performance indicators with external and internal peers

Preparing various financial analysis (e.g. cost /revenues/balance sheet/cash flow)

Understanding business environment, preparing financial information on projects performance for Project Review Meetings, working with project team to translate projects execution information into financials (Spanish language skills required)

Supporting HUB initiatives, preparing relevant organization financial reporting, business planning, budgeting and forecasting and validating accuracy of financial data and business information and reports by performing reconciliation and review of exceptions

Improvement oriented - recommending changes of process standards and procedures, identifying areas for process / report standardization, supporting business with global initiatives (i.e. ABB Way Financial Transformation Program, SAP S/4HANA Central Finance (CFIN))

Ensuring processes and controls within own area of responsibility are designed and implemented in line with Group and unit requirements

Maintaining proper audit trail and documentation, ensuring SOPs are prepared and updated, ensuring service delivery within the agreed SLAs and KPIs
